Miss Pascal’s Xmas Laptop Case!

November 14, 2011

My sister is notoriously hard on electronics, and last year for Christmas, my dad got her a 13″ MacBook Air.  I’ve been nagging her to get a good case for it practically since the day she got it, so I decided to make her a soft case for protection around the house (I think she should still get a heavy-duty bag for taking it places).  I followed the same pattern as Krypton’s Kindle and iPad cases (see below), but used cotton sateen on the outside and satin on the inside since I had a lot of remnants of the stuff floating around.  Check out the contrast between the outside and lining here!

On the outside, I used one of Jenny Hart’s patterns from Embroidered Effects and improvised a little bit, putting my sister’s initials in the heart in the center and using French knots instead of sequins on the tail feathers.  Since she loves bright colors (and peacocks), I hope she’ll like it!

Coming up soon will be a description of my forays into a (well, almost) totally new craft for me, and the successes (and failures) I’ve had with it!  Stay tuned…

~Love and Stitches,

Miss Pascal
